Research Interests

Research mainly through scanning electron microscopy (SEM), concentrating on  diagenesis and characterisation of shales, sandstone and carbonate rocks, with special interests in techniques such as charge contrast imaging (CCI), digital rock characterisation and automation in SEM. Other areas include biomineralization (brachiopods, testate amoeba, serpulids and crustaceans), x-ray tomography (XRT), and ichnology.
